The US deploys troops to Skira in hopes of averting this conflict, putting you squarely up against the People’s Liberation Army. While you can play the game by yourself, it’s possible to take three additional friends and deploy into a new campaign as a squad, each player taking on the role of one of the members of the fire team.

Im sure most of you are wondering whats new, since the 0.7 version of redsn0w was released not to long ago… Whats new? This release is now able to jailbreak the new iPhone 3GS. It looks the first old school game I posted today was met with quite positive reactions so here’s ALiAS’ second game release, this time from 1996. Metal Slug is a classic run and gun video game released for Neo Geo arcade machines and later converted for consoles as well.

In 2028, General Donald Morden launches an all-out, global attack against the Regular Army. With superior numbers and equipment, the Rebellion overwhelms the unsuspecting Regular Army troops easily. The attacks could have been countered effectively, or even prevented, had the high-ranking officials listened to the Regular Army’s intelligence community, which had been warning about all sorts of indications that the Rebellion could attack at any moment in decisive force. Unfortunately, the same officials decide to save their own skins and announce that it was the intelligence failure that led to such catastrophe, which the personnel serving in the intelligence community did not appreciate whatsoever.

The player has to constantly shoot at a continual stream of enemies in order to reach the end of a level. At the end of each level, the player must confront a boss who is often considerably larger than regular enemies and takes many shots to defeat. On the way through the level, the player finds weapons upgrades and “Metal Slug” tanks that can be used not only as weapons but also as added defense.
